Distribution Centre Bergans
Bergans Outdoor GmbH’s global distribution centre in Norderstedt
Just outside Hamburg a new distribution centre has been constructed for Bergans Outdoor GmbH, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of outdoor equipment and functional garments.
What makes this project special? Due to the road layout the 10,000 m2 building had to be designed in a semicircle. We have invested €11m in the distribution centre. It is situated near the airport and in close proximity of Garbe World Cargo Centre.

PlanningKeeping ahead of the curve: Maximum use was made of the available space by designing the building in a semicircle.
ConsultacionWorking hand in hand with our client, we were able to complete the project within a matter of months.
ConstructionThe cornerstone ceremony was held in June 2014. By the end of the year the distribution centre was ready for use and the keys handed over to Bergans.
RevitalisationThe site is situated immediately adjacent to Garbe World Cargo Centre. As preparations for the construction of a logistics property had already been made, the project could be implemented extremely quickly.

Natural light to flood in
Greater use of natural light can cut down on electricity consumption. Exposure to natural light also improves people’s moods. At the planning stage particular attention was paid to good use of natural light.
The AutoStore system (an automated small parts storage system) installed by Bergans ensures efficient use of the available warehouse capacity.
